Wall of Slaughter
The Wall of Slaughter is one of my favorite zones in EverQuest, although I remember my first time in there I died after 3 minutes lol. A Bazu thumped me right on the head! I think that sucker hit me twice, and down I went rofl. Since that time I’ve learned to go in there fully prepared hehe. This zone is definitely not for the lighthearted as there are some pretty nasty mobs (monsters) in there (there’s other zones in the game that are worse, but I haven’t ventured to those places yet).
There’s this mob called Shadowhunter that roams the Wall of Slaughter sometimes… OMG he is a nasty SOB! That thing actually scares me lol. I was in there with a full group (6 other people) that are guild mates and we were taking out one mob after the other. I had my sound turned up loud and the base turned up (the kids were at school, so I was alone in the house) and really getting into the swing of things when out of no where this LOUD sound booms through my speakers, my desk rattled, and I watched myself and group mates bounce repeatedly off the ground about 50 feet in the air. Yes, I thought I pissed myself, and yes, it scared the hell out of me (no different than watching a scary movie, only this time I was involved in it). Once everyone stopped bouncing, I looked around and everyone looked like they were dead…. laying flat on the ground and everything. One of the group members said “Shhhhhhhhh, don’t move. Don’t breath, and whatever you do DON’T get up!”. Of course me being me I said “WTF was that? WTF is going on? WTF happened?” ROFL My group mate says “Shadowhunter, just don’t get up and it will go away in a moment”. This Shadowhunter had cast an AOE (area of effect) spell on our group called Tentacle Strike which hits you for 2000 points of damage and makes you FD (feign death). It hit my ass so hard that it knocked my horse right out from under me. At any rate, we got lucky because it can kill an entire group with one AOE. Nasty mob! Funny thing was I never saw the damn thing much less seen it coming, so I looked it up on Alla. You can see him here. Needless to say that from then on when I go into that zone I keep my tracking window open so I can see if the damn thing is roaming around the zone somewhere. If I see it pop, then I’ll let all the other players in the zone know that it’s roaming around. I’m sure that it’s not the last time the Shadowhunter will get me, but I hope it’s not any time soon lol.

That’s it for today ![]()

Ok woman I got the game and I think I got the patcher thing… man it’s taking forever. I think I will have a Necromancer, Bard, and Cleric characters… Sound good?
w00t! Yes, it will take a long time for the patcher to run… there’s tons of stuff to download hehe (it can probably run all night).
It’s really hard to say what character you will really like, although I see you as a Bard *grin*. Clerics are one of the most saught after group companions in the game because their soul purpose is to keep the entire group alive. Necromancers….. they can do some serious damage lol (just remember anyone with blue skin is considered an evil race….. so if you are a Dark Elf there will be places in the game where the guards will consider you KOS = Kill On Site. I have a Necro and Shadow Knight Dark Elf).
It will take you a bit of time as you play each character before you decide which one you enjoy the most, which that one will become your “main”. You’ll be able to create 8 different characters… I have 5 at the moment, but play my Druid the most hehe.
Can’t wait to see ya in game!!
*Hugs*
Hmmm so far 3 hours to get game and the 7 extensions that came with the platinum download. Tonight when I get back from work I am going to try and figure out how to start it and all. Hubby says I should defrag before starting to play so that can be another hour.. maybe I can get him to do that while I am at work.
Now where did all thos empty note books go? I buy them by the doaen when school year start ::lol::
I tried EQ a year or more ago .. I never got deep into and back then I didnt know you played =(
Now I play WOW and just love it =)
Shook your desk .. WOW LOL .. I would have loved to have seen the look on your face LMAO =}
I’ve only been playing for a year (just got my first Veteran Reward.. Lesson of The Devoted, which gives me double experience for 30 minutes. I can use it every 20 hours.)
EQ is a hard game to master (and even after playing for a year I am still learning things about it). It’s not something you can log into and learn in a few hours. Having said that, one really has to have the willpower not to give up and lose interest within the first 5 minutes lol. Yes, EQ is very much unlike anything I have ever experienced lol.
I was very tempted to try WoW, but after reading some reviews by current players I decided against it. Nothing would irritate me more than spending a few hours just trying to log into the game. I even went to the official WoW forum to view tech reports and it seems they’re still having that issue. Sad cuz I would have liked to of tried the game.
I’m sure the look on my face would have been priceless…. it really did scare the shit outta me rofl.
